Hazardous Waste Management (HWM)

Medical Waste holds a License for the Collection &Transportation of Hazardous Waste (HW) at an inter-regional level and provides specialized services in the collection & transportation of hazardous waste (industrial waste, laboratory waste, etc.) in full compliance with the Greek and EU regulations.

We also provide temporary storage of hazardous waste at our state of the art licensed facilities for temporary storage of hazardous waste  in the Industrial Area of Heraklion Crete.

Non-Hazardous Waste Management

Medical Waste has a large fleet of vehicles, equipment and experienced staff and can provide non-hazardous waste management services (collection, transportation, storage, treatment, and recycling) while reducing the waste sent to landfills and contributing to the ultimate goal of zero wastes to landfills.

Confidential Destruction of Files, Documents and electronic storage media

The new General Data Protection Regulation 2016/679 (GDPR)  became applicable on May 25th, 2018, in all European countries. Organizations and companies that provide health and social support services, as well as all healthcare professionals, have increased obligations from the implementation of that Regulation. Sensitive personal data is defined as data that contains the following information:

  • Medical history (Diagnoses, prescriptions, referrals, opinions, results of laboratory and imaging tests),
  • Racial or national origin,
  • Political opinions and religious beliefs,
  • Sex life information,
  • Criminal prosecutions or convictions.

Medical Waste provides certified confidential destruction services of file, documents, and electronic data storage media.
